all right

Occasionally adding corroborative details to add verisimilitude to otherwise bald and unconvincing,
but veridicous accounts
with careful attention, indefatigable assiduity, and nice discrimination.

Oh, Julia! Oh, Kevin!

Oh, Kevin! — Does totally screwing the people of Australia make you horny, too? — Mmmm.

Apparently, when Rudd or Gillard talk about “serving the country” they use the verb, serve, in the same way that a farmer refers to a stud bull serving a heifer.

Deriding Conspiracy Theories

It Is Not a Conspiracy

The Chief Scientist stamps his feet and cries,
“It’s not a conspiracy!  It is not!
But there is a conspiracy of lies
to speculate that there is one.  For what
you must accept is how much I despise
the uncivil bastard who casts a lot
of nasty, false claims and dares criticise
my fellow scientists, saying they plot
when, with no thought of self, they analyse
their own biassed models and clearly spot
that there must be a catastrophic rise
of global warming.  Yes, it will get hot,
and only a barbaric man denies
that undoubted consensus which I got
by counting all those who hypothesise
as I do.  I shall never care a jot
for men who mock, doubt, jeer or scepticise.
It’s not a conspiracy!  It is not!”

“Never Again”

In Spite of Experts

The season of mists
and mellow fruitfulness soon
fades; winter’s calling.

British experts said,
Children won’t “know what snow is”*,
yet snow is falling.

*  see “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past” by Charles Onians:
However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers.  According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.
“Children just aren't going to know what snow is,” he said.
