The First of September
It is not Spring yet
despite silly date-watchers
who say so. I bet
the awarmist set
will grab any suppos’d rise
in warmth it can get.
We should never let
lying, self-serving scammers
persuade us to fret:
whether dry or wet,
raisin’ fears—and fees!—on change
is their raison d’être.
